These past few days we've had somewhat of a heat wave here in Wisconsin - it was 40 degrees, which is unheard of for January! So when I was getting dressed this morning, I assumed it would still be as unseasonably warm as it had been.
WRONG.
Turns out it's actually the coldest it's been all winter. How inconveniant for me since I didn't know that until I was already driving to work in my little lace shirt, thin cardigan, and open neck. Newsflash Fran: Wisconsin winters are freaking cold and completely unpredictable. Maybe put more clothes on next time....

Isn't the weather fun ;) It was close to 40 on Saturday and ever since it has been below 10 and negative temps the past two days! I have been more carefully thinking about my clothing to stay warm!
ReplyDeleteHey, even if you were a little cold, you look super cute! Love the necklace and lace shirt!
That lace top is so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteYou still look great, and you don't even look cold! I would be freezing, as I start shivering when it gets in the 50s.
ReplyDeletegorgeous necklace! and wtg winner for the scarf!
ReplyDeleteI hear you... it was around 40 degrees here too (Massachusetts) which is very warm for January. Well its about to turn for the worst around here and tomorrow is suppose to be like 0 degrees with windchill of like -14 BRR!! I don't even want to entertain the idea of wearing a sweater again... uggg! BUT you look adorable here, I am in love with that top!
ReplyDeleteUgh so awful when that happens - but at least you looked cute doing it!! Love the necklace + top together!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that winner is me!!! I haven't received an email, but I know I entered for the lovely scarf.

I love how you paired that statement necklace with the lovely lace top. You look beautiful my dear xo
ReplyDelete40 degrees is warm?! That's like dead of winter for me! Even if you were frozen by the time you got to work, you looked amazing. I love that gorgeous necklace!

love this look. I wear 3 layers today because in be 1 degree out.
ReplyDeleteStep 1 in my outfit planning every night: always check the weather! Love your necklace though!
ReplyDeleteyou are one step ahead of me. I need to start doing that... :)
Deletewell that sounds very unfortunate! At least you looked cute, but really it's no fun to freeze. It's been super cold here too, so obviously that does not please me.
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
I definitely had a rude awakening this morning too with the frigid temps. Either way, you look adorable! I love your lace top and necklace. Heather
ReplyDeleteGlad you were sporting hussy ankles in subzero temps. So was I. Stone cold solidarity!!!

Love the statement necklace and how you layered it with the smaller one. So cute! Hope you were able to stay warm enough on your drive to work. My drive is only about 10 minutes, but when it's -10 degrees, the drive feels like forever!
ReplyDeleteNice necklace
ReplyDeleteLike the outfit :)
Love this cute and casual look, especially that necklace!! I can relate, our winters are the same. Today we actually got into the 40's! I felt like wearing a t-shirt:)

I totally feel like a nutty Californian after reading this post! I consider anything below 70 cold and make sure to layer up lol! Crazy...I know! I guess your body gets used to a certain temp and determines what you can/cannot tolerate! Anywho, very pretty lace top and love the necklace! I was just about to order it in the pink color yesterday:)!
ReplyDeleteI love how you call yourself Fran! Its soo cute and I love that necklace :)
ReplyDeleteThat necklace is adoooooorrrrrabbblleeee! Why you always gotta be tempting me! And yeah, it is cold as F around these parts - we had a windchill of like -5 yesterday, so I'm sure it was even worse by you! I've been bundled up in a michelin man north face for pretty much 100% of the last few days.
ReplyDeleteYikes! Hope you managed to stay warm! I love that necklace, it looks like "more" than $9.00. I love the lace top.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your lace shirt! I keep seeing them in blogs - I love how they serve a similar purpose to a white tee, but are so much more interesting and sophisticated!
ReplyDelete40 degrees a heat wave?! Gah! That's super cold! :-) I love the lace top though...and that necklace is so pretty!

Oh girl, you and me both! (I was watching the weather channel last night and saw how cold it's been down there, brrr!) I think this is my very favorite of your outfits, I love the soft pastel color of this necklace with your dainty lace top. It might be impractical, but wow, does it look good!
ReplyDeleteOk I have to confess I totally went out and bought the necklace you wore in this post! I wore it to work today and got several compliments. What a find on your part, I give you total credit for this one. For F21 it's really stylish and looks way more expensive than it is. My accountant didn't believe me when I told her the price.
ReplyDeleteYay! I love that! Forever 21 is my go-to when it comes to accessories (and for the cheap thrills). They have surprising good quality for the price (compared to similar priced jewelry like from H&M).
DeleteThat necklace really pops! So pretty! - J
ReplyDeleteOmg, I KNOW. This midwest weather is insane. One day 50 degrees, the next day -100 billion. After these temps, I need spring ASAP. Haha.
