I'm a huge huge fan of Lilly's Style and Hello, Gorgeous. After pinning the same type of their outfits several different times, I figured I needed to try it out for myself. I've already been working on the button-up under the sweater, so all that was needed was the necklace. My mom got me this necklace as a little Christmas gift and it was the perfect piece to try it out.
Turns out I over think just about everything as this wasn't a huge sartorial risk - I just need to try things instead of hmming and hawing about it for a year ;)

Great necklace - that color is just gorgeous... and are you doing something different with your hair??? It's looking fantastic in these pictures... I have hair envy :)

That necklace is beautiful, and I love the way it looks against your sweater.
ReplyDeleteVery cute and well put-together, IMO! I love the color of the necklace, too! I need to start trying this layering business ...
ReplyDeleteI know that they are similar concepts, but I really prefer that necklace over the probably-never-going-to-go-away bubble necklace! (They aren't bad, they're just EVERYWHERE.)
ReplyDeleteThis looks really great on you and your hair is looking bangin'.
Gorgeous necklace. I love the last photo. I think it looks great like that.
ReplyDeleteFran, I love this outfit you look beautiful and your hair OH MY GOSH! I love it ;-)
ReplyDeleteDayi
I'm always admiring their looks too! I think you did great putting this together. I especially love how the colors contrast. (:
ReplyDeleteI tried a similar look one day with the button down, sweater, and necklace combo, and I kept telling my friends this is how all the fashion bloggers dress! Haha!

Love the texture of the sweater, striped shirt and necklace--but your hair!!! Wow, looks stunning!
ReplyDeleteI really need to try that button-up under sweater trick... somehow I always end up looking rather frumpy instead of super put-together like you do.
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE this necklace! So gorgeous :) Your striped blouse is super cute! And I agree with the above comment... I try to do button ups under sweaters and I always end up looking frumpy! You make it look incredibly chic!
ReplyDeleteyou HAVE to do the tank in between! It's seriously changed how I dress.
DeleteGorgeous necklace! It brings everything together so well!
ReplyDeleteLove the necklace! What a great pop of color :)
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing! I definitely am that way about certain styles - and then once I try them I wonder why I didn't do it WAY sooner!
ReplyDeleteYou look killer dude! I have a tendency to over think things or think I'm not pulling something off right but it is all in our crazy whacked out minds.

The necklace has a beautiful color and shape!!!! Would veto wear this kind f ensemble to work but my feet get so cold in winter:-( gotta wait for spring time :-)
ReplyDeletehaha I hear you on the cold feet! Luckily for me, I park my car in our attached garage, and I only have to walk about 30 feet into work, so unless it just snowed, I can get away with flats :) If I had to spend any time walking outside, I would definitely NOT be in flats with exposed ankles ;)
DeleteSuper cute necklace! And I know what you mean about hemming and hawing over little trends.. I've primarily stayed away from glitter nail polishes, but I just painted a thin coat of silver sparkle over my minty blue nails and I feel like I'm the boss of the trend world. Haaa. I'm only about two years late on that one...
ReplyDeleteCute outfit though, girl! :)
I really want to go check out that necklace! I love the minty turquoise color. I also need to check out some sweaters to try out your layering technique. I just love this outfit :)
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks really cute here!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute necklace, I love it with the contrasting green underneath!
ReplyDeleteI've just stumbled upon your blog, so please forgive me if you have addressed this elsewhere, how do you find the fit on those AE skinny jeans to be? Do you get baggy knees? Or do they stretch to the point that you can take them off without unbuttoning them? I am very glad to have found your blog, I love fashion blogs where the blogger actually wears her outfits!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE button up/sweater/big necklace combos. I love this look on you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful necklace! I really like Lilly too, and she's so nice!
ReplyDeleteI love that necklace and the choice of hues you pulled together here. Winning combo!
ReplyDeleteZahra
I'm a bit crazy about those two blogs too :) Especially Lily's style! I think you pulled it off just as well as these styling ladies do ) The necklace is so pretty on you! x
ReplyDeleteLove this look! I have being wearing button-ups under sweaters and loving it. But I'm scared of the statement necklace! You may have inspired me to have a little courage and just go for it!
ReplyDeleteget it girl! I now love it :)
DeleteLove the mix of blues! Such a great look :)

ReplyDeleteI think I can copy this with my polka dot button down...doing. that.
I love Lilly and Yasi's blogs!! You did a great job on this outfit, I think they both would approve! Great necklace, I see you getting lots of use out of it.

ReplyDeleteLovely! The necklace is pretty much gorgeous. Do I see snow though, aren't your feet freezing? Or are you wearing thin socks or something?
ReplyDeleteIn any case it looks gorgeous and I do love your shoes <3
Oh and thanks for the lovely comments on my blog
love,
Angie (www.sundaybelle.com)
Thank you Angie. Those are my bare feet but they are only outside for about 25 seconds in the morning so I can get away with it when it hasn't snowed recently ;)
DeleteAh of course! I don't even need to try in the winter in the Netherlands because my commute to uni is 30+ minutes haha.
DeleteI was thisclose to buying this necklace on Forever21, and then I got sidetracked. Story of my life.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your hair looks great in these photos.
