A couple of weeks ago I felt like I was in a pretty big clothing funk - winter, having to be so covered up, and being bored with the clothes in my closet kind of created the perfect storm for clothing funk. You guys had so many great suggestions about how to get out of it, and one of the biggest suggestions was to do a 30x30. I've really enjoyed watching all of you do 30x30s because you guys are all so creative and really know how to stretch your clothing items. The reason I resisted from participating is because I'm already quite limited in what I can wear. Because I don't own many dresses/skirts (because I can only wear them with boots) and because my shoe choices are already quite slim, I didn't feel I could get as much out of the challenge as some of you other ladies.
Yesterday I saw AJ's post about doing a new challenge started by Sarah's Real Life called Take One, Pass it On. It's pretty self explanatory - wear an outfit one day, and the next day you take one piece from the previous day (jewelry and shoes included!) and wear it again. I feel this gives me a bit more flexibility and options than a 30x30 would because it works better with my work clothing restrictions. It also involves less planning which is always a plus in my book!
Looking for a way to mix it up in February? I urge you to give it a try - some ladies are also only doing it for a week so maybe a bit of mid February excitement if you're looking for it!

what an interesting idea! i feel like you would still have to plan for this though to have a general idea of how your outfits would work throughout the week, but it might be something fun to try! i'd love to follow along with you if you go for it!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a cool idea!!
ReplyDeleteVery cool idea, it would definitely make you get creative. Excited to see what you do with it :)

Oh fun! I'd love to join in. Does it count if I just wore the same shoes for a week? Lol. :) when are you doing it?
ReplyDeleteThis is a neat idea...I might have to try it. It would be a fun experiment to see if people notice!
ReplyDeleteOh cool! That's a great idea! :)

ReplyDeleteOoooh I would be interested in joining!
ReplyDeleteThis sound like tons of fun.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! I'm up for giving it a try.
ReplyDeleteNew to the blogging world and yours... LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteLove, your newest follower.
I like this better than the 30 for 30 because it gives you more freedom. I don't think I would like being boxed in by a specific item of clothing. I haven't ever tried one, but I know shoes and accessories count, so I think it would be very challenging! I am looking forward to how you keep this fresh!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun! I'll be sure to try it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're trying my challenge and spreading the word! Thanks so much.

I've TOTALLY thought of doing something like this before! Sounds like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteI am always in a clothing funk about this time of year. I don't know why, but it always happens. My outfits get boring and I don't put as much effort in...
ReplyDeleteI'm going to do this asap, love the idea!

Love this idea! If you decide to do it, I'm definitely in, too! It sounds like a great way to stretch your wardrobe without being so limited.

This is really a great idea! It would certainly make planning outfits easier!
ReplyDeleteOooh, an interesting idea! I think I might try this... time to plan... :)
ReplyDeleteI love this idea, but don't know if I could pull it off. Really looking forward to seeing your outfits though!

I LOVE this idea! I've never been a huge fan of 30 for 30 because for me it's more of a challenge to wear everything in my wardrobe than just mixing and matching select items. I'm thinking I may have to give this a try... Maybe for only a week, but it sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteI really like this idea, it'll be interesting to see it in practice. I did the 30x30 twice on my previous pre-pregnancy blog, in fact I started that blog to participate the first time around but I didn't like being quite so restricted. With the pass it on idea you can still utilise much of your wardrobe which appeals to me a bit more.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds interesting and fun! I might have to give it a try! I am totally uninspired right now. It sucks... I've had the hardest time getting ready in the morning and am just never happy with what I end up choosing. This could definitely help! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou guys should all try it! I know I've only done a couple of days, but it's already been easier than 30x30. I do find myself planning outfits days in advance and deciding what pieces I'll remix, but that's only because I have too much free time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link love!
Great idea!! Must try this!!

Oooh, this is a great idea. If nothing it's already gotten me brainstorming a bit on some new mixing and matching possibilities - extra handy as I pack my suitcase for a quick trip later this week!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great remix challenge! I just finished a 30 for 30, but I would really like to try this sometime in the future!
