This is one of those outfits that I normally wouldn't have blogged. The lighting was off, the outfit is pretty boring, my pants look all puckered even though they are almost too loose, I'm still getting used to my new lens, and I look/feel kind of frumpy in these pictures. wah wah.
While I try to keep it pretty real on my blog, I also try to put my best food forward. There are at least 3 outfits a month where I intend to blog about them, but what I see in the mirror doesn't translate to what I see in pictures. Please tell me I'm not the only one, and not that all of you other bloggers look amazing all the time.

But... with this whole "take one pass it on", I couldn't pass on blogging because I specifically wore the scarf again. Damn you, blogging challenges!

O honey, if you saw me most days, I am NOT blog worthy! lol. I like this look though, its simple. Actually, I think Audrey from Putting Me Together actually blogged black skinny jeans and a chambray shirt yesterday! She rocked leopard heels instead of the scarf, but both totally work for each of you!

If I were a fashion blogger there would be days of outfits that just would make you scratch your head.
ReplyDeleteI think this outfit looks good though :)
I love this Take One Pass it On idea. I am seriously considering it. Kudos for posting a photo you might not normally have blogged. It's nice to know other bloggers "keep it real" LOL! Heather
ReplyDeletei think we are our own worst critics. no one looks perfect every single minute of the day! i think you look great in these pictures and never would have thought the things you saw.
ReplyDeleteOo what lens did you get? It has nice bokeh.

I think you look great. And I think blogging even the less exciting outfits is a good thing. Part of my year of no shopping means blogging every day (even when the outfit is boring or I'm having a bad hair day or the photographs are kind of terrible). I think it's a good reminder that we're all human!
ReplyDeleteSomeone else is taking a 2013 shopping break?!?!?! Ahhhh! I'm going to stalk, I mean follow you and maybe we can start some kind of support group?

I totally think this is a "blog worthy" outfit. You look adorable!

Haha, I have soooo many outfits that just don't "work" the way I think they will...what seems like a fab idea at 7 am when I'm getting dressed slowly becomes a terrible one by 5:30 pm when I get home to do photos. Those never, ever make it to the blog. (I still manage to post a dud every once in a while, though!)
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! It's definitely blog worthy, but I know what you mean. There are outfits I photography but not post for similar reasons!
ReplyDeleteFizz and Frosting
There's a difference between frumpy & casual! I like.
ReplyDeleteI think that this outfit rocks -- and so do you, duh.
ReplyDeleteI think that we have some kind of empathy projection issues because I JUST wrote a post similar to this the other day (and I totally appreciated your kind words and support despite the fact I felt like a zeppelin). It's all part of being a blogger and putting yourself "out there." We're allowed to be real people, too, right?
You're my fave.

Normal the outfit I hate. normal are the ones people love the most.
ReplyDeleteI think this outfit looks cute! But I totally getcha on the outfits you don't want to blog. You'd better do a Take One Pass It On recap at the end. So fun!
ReplyDeleteYou look cute, and I definitely know the feeling of a needle scratch when you look back at the photos. But, we're human and this is all about what we are learning from our wardrobes, I hope :)

Oh gosh, this happens to me all the time, especially because I am carrying a stack of extra weight so things that look good in my head or on Pinterest look like hell when I put them on. I have bronchitis at the moment so I am just wearing sweats 24/7 so obvs. won't be blogging outfits this week haha.
ReplyDeleteI need to do this pass it on challenge!
GIrl I feel you! I feel this way often! I will spend hours looking at photos of myself not because I have an Adonis complex but because I am trying to see what others see in me. I don't think I'm pretty or stylish by any means but others see something I must be missing.
ReplyDeleteAlso this look is cute so whatever to it being plain. I live for plain. :-)

You know how mine can look - ha!! I figure I can look back and see what shouldn't have seen the light of day & and what works on me.
ReplyDeleteOkay first of all... you look great and I think this is TOTALLY blog worthy... I could immediately send tons of outfit links from my blog and show you my unworthy blogging days that were truly unworthy but still there lol. Love the transition of the leopard scarf from day to day!
ReplyDeleteI get this all the time. Part of the reason I don't post enough OOTDs, they get me too frustrated too often :(
ReplyDeletebut I really like this though! :D
I know exactly how you feel! Sometimes I just say, "Screw it!" and hope I get it right next time. But like two birds said, we are our own worst critics!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, you're not alone. The worst is when I do publish outfit photos and then am like 'really? Really??' Haha I really don't think these photos are that bad though! :)
ReplyDeletelife-etcblog.blogspot.com.au
I know what you mean about not knowing if an outfit is blog-worthy, but I think your ensemble is easy, classic and cute!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel! I'll put on an outfit, be feelin' all cute and stylish and what not, take some pictures, load them on my computer and then realize the outfit just doesn't photo well. Breaks my little ole heart every time. But I definitely think your outfit today photoed well! I'm wearing almost the exact thing today ;)

OMG. I had this exact same argument today about my tomorrow's post. It just all seemed off! But it felt less genuine to try again with a new outfit rather than to just see the challenge through.
ReplyDeleteAll that said, you still worked it!
I like the outfit, simple, but put together. I like it when blogs feature the "average" photos they take. It makes me feel better to know everyone has an off day!
ReplyDelete..i'd blog today but i'm in jammies at home sick. you look great here - flaunt it!
ReplyDelete"There are at least 3 outfits a month where I intend to blog about them, but what I see in the mirror doesn't translate to what I see in pictures" - YUP. Story of my blog.
ReplyDeleteThat's the funny thing about blogging ... it makes getting dressed fun, but at the same time, I start to question, "Is this blog-worthy?" But since I'm exploring and figuring out my style vs. leading the style pack, I try not to stress about it. ;)
I totally understand! Today's post had grainy photos because I messed up the ISO and didn't figure it out until I was editing. :(
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I love your scarf and especially your arm candy! I try to stack bracelets, but I can't seem to ever get it right. I'm also loving your pass it on project!
Great outfit! Love your scarf =]

I love that idea of being able to cycle clothes to the next day- very smart!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit even if it didn't photograph the way you were expecting.
I think it's a cute outfit! And I definitely have an entire folder on my desktop of outfits that never made it to the blog... I think it happens to all of us!
ReplyDeleteLady friend, I missed out reading your post yesterday, but I totally blogged about the same thing today - feelings of not being "blog worthy"... but I think we are all in this style blogging thing to figure out what works, and what doesn't, and sharing the journey along the way!
ReplyDeleteI am loving this take one pass it on challenge for sure!
xx
haha...oh, blogging challenges! I guess that's why I haven't done one because I'm scared of getting stuck. But I do love the idea of "take one pass it on".
