oh hey! surprise! it's still snowing here in Wisconsin. I know that if you read any fashion blogs at all you would think that spring has sprung, that the birds are chirping, and that flowers everywhere are blooming.
not here.
don't worry, we're used to having flash blizzards in May so a few flurries in March is fine...
...except when you try to take pictures of yourself outside.

Blazer: H&M [similar]
Tee: Forever 21 [exact]
Jeans: Joe's Jeans [same style]
Scarf: H&M
Shoes: Crown Vintage [save | splurge]
Purse: Madewell [exact]
Watch: Target [check in stores]
Glasses: c/o Firmoo*
*I received this pair of glasses from Firmoo last week and I've really enjoyed having a second pair to rotate with my other glasses. I really like the color and style of frames available - I had a pretty hard time deciding which frames to get so I choose to get something similar to what I already works on my face. The glasses are great - my only hesitation with ordering glasses online is that no one fits them specifically to your head like they would at the optometrists. If you are interested in trying out a pair, Firmoo offers first time customers a free pair - you can find out more here.
Also. The nice thing about documenting what I wear every day (ok, most days) is that I can go back and see how I've worn items in the past. I went to go see how I've worn this blazer and I realized that the second to last time I wore it was the day after I found out I was rejected from my #1 school choice. Today when I wore it I turned in my notice for my last day of work for when I leave to go to my #2 choice. Kind of interesting, no? No? Fine.

Spring has definitely not sprung here in Michigan either, haha! We have mountains of snow...
ReplyDeleteThat blazer/scarf looks great! I really we had an H&M where I am (or they had online shopping, haha). And my Joe's Jeans are my favorite.
Thanks for keeping it real for those of us stuck in colder climates ... I love the elbow patches on your blazer!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit looks so good on you! I love the elbow detailing on the blazer and that Madewell bag the most. Such a great look!
ReplyDeleteJust visiting from STyle Elixir's link up. Love your outfit. The blazer is fabulous. Spring has arrived here bringing monsoon rain with it and hay fever. Hope the snow melts soon,

I love your blazer and scarf, but girl it looks like you should be wearing a down coat! BRRRR!

You can keep the snow...I am so over it even though we didn't get a whole lot this winter. I love that blazer with the classic elbow patches!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are gorgeous! Seriously--I'm super jealous of the scenery! It "snowed" here a while back, but it was basically tiny ice pellets that fell and immediately melted. Of course, it sent everyone into a panic...you know how Alabama drivers are...
ReplyDeleteoh but the snow looks like fun! (says girl from CA). adore this blazer - and the bag is awesome with this outfit too!
ReplyDeleteLove the lace and plaid. So preppy chic ;) I would die if it were snowing. I can't handle much more of this nonsense. I need spring so badly that I plan to wear bright yellow tomorrow.

How the crap do you wear such little clothing in the snow? Every time you wear what I consider "normal clothes" in the snow I am just reminded of how much of a weather wuss I am! haha
ReplyDeletebeautiful! love this look!
ReplyDeleteThis is a perfect winter outfit. I love your blazer and scarf!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE YOUR SHOES! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI feel you on the snow - we've been getting snow like every third or fourth day in Minnesota. :( We'll have 2-3 warm, melty days, and then get anywhere from 3-8 inches of snow. GROSS. I want to wear my flats...and dresses/skirts without tights...and no jacket to work. :(
We had a flurry situation last week in DC...so crazy! I wish Spring would hurry up and make an appearance.
ReplyDeleteI love the lace top you are wearing. Lace is possibly my favorite thing!

Still chilly here too, and I'm not looking forward to bare leg season, bc mine could blind someone. haha. That bag! So sad I have to wait til April for mine to get delivered.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the Midwest too and we had some BIG snowflakes falling for awhile and getting close to whiteout for a bit as well.
ReplyDeleteCute blazer!
Am I the only one that finds is TOTALLY awesome that you related your blazer with elbow patches to med school?! I LOVE elbow patches...on guys and on girls. SO nerdy cute! And the scarf looks great with the small red lines in the jacket.

I love how in our heads we try to justify things but usually comes out all weird when we try to explain it to someone else. But I can see where you are coming from! :)
ReplyDeleteSpring has definitely sprung in San Francisco... by which I mean, we never really had winter (and it's supposed to be in the 70s tomorrow). I know this sounds crazy, but I'm jealous of the snow you have in WI!

I'm still stuck in the snow too.. In Germany. We are all ready for spring to finally come! Love your blazer and thanks for sharing the glasses site!

We had "spring" last Tuesday in Hampshire, it was 14 degrees and glorious. Back to rain, grey and snow since then. The snowdrops, crocuses and some daffodils have all bloomed but it's 2 degrees today and yesterday there was a biting wind. In summary, spring has not yet reached the UK either!
ReplyDeleteHaha... I love that big snowflake on your first photo. Summer is still hanging on here too, it was 86F today! Your new glasses really suit your face. Please let me know how the quality of your Firmoo specs hold up as I'm after a new pair of glasses.
ReplyDeleteWe had snow last Friday, then a 60 degree day on Saturday, so yeah, it has been all over the place. I'm loving the pattern and texture in this outfit!
ReplyDeleteYes so over the flippin snow!!!!! I love that bag of yours - it's the perfect color and size!!!! Here's to spring...and dreaming of open toes and no jackets!

This is a really great outfit. Just add your heavy coat for snow and you are ready for the day! LOL I hope your snow clears quickly, but in the meantime continue to enjoy your scarves and blazers! Love the blazer and bag!
ReplyDeleteI woke up to snow on the ground this morning if that makes you feel any better. :) I'm digging the mix of textures in this outfit. Were you able to find a chambray this weekend?
ReplyDeleteGreat winter look! Keep warm!
ReplyDeleteCuh-Yute! I love me a good plaid jacket :)
ReplyDeleteOh the snow! It just never ends, does it? I love your glasses... they look really good on you. Also, that blazer is AMAZING, I love the patches. Hoping it will warm up for us in the Midwest here soon!
ReplyDeleteI love that jacket with the more feminine top. It's such a great combination.
ReplyDeleteFizz and Frosting
I feel ya girl, we're still getting a bit of snow here, too! I am NOT okay with it.
ReplyDeleteHi Fran. I love your top & blazer today. Anything with patches on the elbows is great in my opinion, both classic & preppy. I'd love to get my hands on a stylish White Lace Top, too. =)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I gave a shot-out to you, on my blog today.
Haha, that is funny that you wore this blazer on two days that were about your school/future - maybe you subconcsiously knew, so you wanted to wear your most academic-looking blazer? :) Either way, fab look - I love love love that blazer, and it's perfect with the lace and red scarf. And you know Chicago feels your "when the hell is spring and why does everyone else get it first" pain... snowin last night here too :(
ReplyDeletelove this blazer! the elbow detailing is so on point. I don't know what's worse, rotating sunny and snowy days or one steady winter lol. either way, i'm ready for spring!

Yep, we had a freak 10 minute blizzard in Chicago yesterday. So glad I already had my outfit photos out of the way!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see someone wearing a plaid blazer I think I want one. But I'm trying SO HARD not to buy more blazers. Please justify the purchase of one for me, okay?
That blazer is amazing!! Sending warm weather your way!
ReplyDeleteFlash blizzards in May sounds like just about the WORST thing in the history of the universe. Ick!

I ordered glasses from Firmoo a while ago too, I love them! I was "telling" Ali the other day I am always jealous of those of you who get a real winter. I think it must be a case of the grass is greener though because I am sure I would hate it if I actually lived there.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, what's with the weather here? I couldn't believe the flakes on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI love that aspect of style blogging. Being able to look back and get ideas on how to style an item you might have forgotten about. I have been having fun going back and pulling outfits from my archives for the 5 days 5 ways link-up you're doing.
ReplyDeleteSeriously love your outfit! And its still snowing here too, I'm just ignoring it and wearing fun spring colors anyway :)
