meow

cat shirt + willis
I'm not really a cat person. Not because I don't want to be, but because I'm really allergic to them.

Good news - the cats on my shirt are not real. Cats for everyone! Officially a cat lady now. Maybe I'll get the dress too....

cat shirt!

*I really like the Coach Legacy collection for its classic style and rich leather but a ~$300 bag is not something I need/can afford right now. Of all the types of handbags, the crossbodies are my favorite so I wanted to add a neutral leather version to my more inexpensive collection.

Jean from Extra Petite recently posted about the vintage Coach market - many of the current Legacy collection bags are based off the originals. Getting a current Legacy style but as an original is something I hadn't thought of. I started searching and bidding on eBay - I wasn't willing to spend more than $50 though so I lost out on quite a few. I received a tip to also search Etsy and that's where I found this bag. She's in great condition - she just needs a little bit of TLC and then she'll be good as new. I'm really happy with this purchase!

  1. I'm so happy you were able to find that bag! I had been eyeing a brown one, but that black one looks so nice! Hmmmm . . .

  2. Such a fun print! Love it paired with the red sweater too. I picked up a similar blouse at Gap with ladybugs on it :)

  3. Such a cute shirt and it looks really pretty with that cardi ;)

  4. I adore this outfit on you! I actually scored my own vintage Coach bag a few years ago and wore it a lot last year. It's in great condition. (I'm also allergic to cats. Dave's cat gave me asthma ...)

  5. I have a Coach crossbody too- love them! I'd check out the outlet mall for lower priced options- and sometimes they have coupons too! I have an outlet right over the border in WI by me...it's good and bad. HA!

  8. Love your outfit!! I've only met a couple cats that I actually like. They seem so creepy to me! I'm not a big cat person.

  10. I actually have wanted a cat for a long time but I am allergic as heck to them. If I touch a cat and then forget and rub my eyes before washing - forget it! ;o)

  11. Cute bag! I'm on the market for a new tote bag for work. Maybe I'll try ebay this time!

On another note, I am also allergic to cats and I've always shied away from the "cat print" items for that reason alone. Do I even like cats? Enough to wear on a shirt? But most of the time, it's a really cute print! Love yours paired with the red cardigan!

  12. I bought that shirt in light blue after Caroline sent me a promo code. I tried it on in-store and love it.

I actually work for a pet food company, so I'm saving it to wear with a pencil skirt at an upcoming cat meeting. I am happy to work someplace where wearing anything with a cat, paw print, dog bone, etc. is totally normal and happy.

  13. I ordered an older Coah Crossbody on ebayback in November(?), and I got it for a steal - it unfortunately was way smaller than it looked in the photos. Boo. Looking for a navy or tan version of your bag, but I don't want to spend more than $50 either.

  14. As someone who is also REALLY allergic to cats I don't think I would even think to wear something with cats on it. But that top looks so fun with the red cardigan.

  15. Very cute look! The cardigan is a great color on you. I love the bag too!!

  16. Cute bag! I love my Coach Legacy bag but I need a tan one for summer, I am going to look and see what's available on Etsy. I did have my eye on a RL tan tote but a Coach satchel might be just the ticket, too.

  17. This print is really cute! Also, you are so lucky when it comes to vintage finds! This bag is timeless!

  18. Vintage Coach bags are the best! That's a great way to get a "smart purchase" at a great deal. You'll hang on to that forever!

  19. Love the cats! My daughter has the orange shirt with the tea cups on it. One of my faves! As for the "vintage" coach bag...I have the same one that I bought in 1988!! LOL! Timeless...

  20. Oh my gosh...love the bag! It's so classic. I'm looking for the tan version and was sooo close to buying the current version but then it went out of stock! Guess that's a good thing right? haha... $300 is A LOT and don't think I've spent that much on anything but I would consider it an investment piece and wouldn't feel too bad about it :-)

  21. I am totally a cat person, and this shirt is too cute! Drat, I was just downtown and didn't go into Gap.

You look so pretty today! I love everything about this outfit. The jeans, shoes, purse, shirt, sweater, nails...yup, everything.

  22. Dang, you look sassy in those first few pictures...or maybe it's aloof, like a cat :)

I don't have any animal printed shirts or anything, but find them whimsical and spunky. Yours is great!

  23. cat shirt!!! Weird that you're allergic to cats but not dogs? I thought dog allergies were more common but whatever, I don't know anything about allergies.

Ok, those knuckle rings intrigue me. Doesn't it get uncomfortable or just feel like you're wearing a ring that's too small?

And I just wanted to tell you that I love that you post on your blog so regularly. I know that even though I'm not caught up on my Google reader *tear* I know that I can count on typing in your blog address and having a new post to read.

  26. I really love you in that red cardigan. I'm also really, really allergic to cats, which makes me stay away from all of them. And the longer I stay away from them, the more scared of them I get. Yes, I am lame and I'm now scared of house cats. But for some reason I loooove big cats like lions and tigers.

  27. You look great in these colors!! I love cross body bags, but finding ones that are a decent size and affordable is hard. I will have to try searching Etsy, thanks for sharing that tip!

  28. I love crossbody bags too! Great job finding that Coach one, I have seen the classics coming back and I dig it. And YAY cat lady! lol!!

  29. Yay! You bought it! haha, I saw your post on instagram, and I was in LOVE with that shirt too. I'm not a big cat person either though..unless they act like dogs, in which case they're just like dogs, but more flexible! ha

  36. Love this look on you! And I love the idea for searching Ebay/Etsy for vintage Coach purses. I love the Legacy line and finally invested in a tote a few months ago - that's like a once in 7 years kind of purchase for me, but I'd still loooove one of their cross bodies or bucket totes. Off to scour the internets for this cheaper option!
